Section-12, Installing the management enclosure on the rails

About this task

Warning: The management enclosure exceeds the safe lifting limit for a single service representative. Lifting the management enclosure requires two service representatives.
Note: Read and understand all steps in this section before starting step 1.

Procedure

  1. Locate the management enclosure in Box 4 of 10.
  2. Ensure the white inventory label at the top front of the enclosure has Management.
  3. Install the management enclosure on the rails.
    1. Extend the slide rails forward Callout label 1 until they click twice into place.
    2. Carefully lift the management enclosure and tilt it into position over the rails so that the rear nail heads Callout label 2 line up with the rear slots Callout label 3 on the slide rails. Slide the enclosure down until the rear nail heads slip into the two rear slots. Then, slowly lower the front of the enclosure Callout label 4 until the other nail heads slip into the other slots on the slide rails. Ensure that the front latch Callout label 5 slides over the nail heads.

    3. Lift the blue release latches Callout label 1 on the slide rails and push the enclosure Callout label 2 all the way into the rack until it clicks into place. For details, see Figure 2.
