Section-18, Installing the lower CEC enclosure (XC2) on the rails

About this task

Note: Read and understand all steps in this section before starting step 1.

Procedure

  1. Locate the CEC enclosure in Box 5 of 10.
  2. Ensure that the rightmost label at the top front of the enclosure has XC2, lower.
  3. At the front of the rack, extend the slide rails forward Callout label 1 until they click twice into place. See Figure 1.

  4. Install the enclosure on the rails.
    1. Carefully lift the enclosure and tilt it into position over the slide rails so that the rear nail heads Callout label 2 on the enclosure line up with the rear slots Callout label 3 on the slide rails. Slide the enclosure down until the rear nail heads slip into the two rear slots. Then, slowly lower the front of the enclosure Callout label 4 until the other nail heads slip into the other slots on the slide rails. Ensure that the front latch Callout label 5 slides over the nail heads.
    2. Lift the blue release latches Callout label 1 on the slide rails and push the enclosure Callout label 2 all the way into the rack until it clicks into place. For details, see Figure 2.

  5. Locate the two black bolts in the plastic bag from the CEC rail box.
  6. Install the two black bolts through the CEC bezel into the rails.
