Determining if a safety inspection is required
Procedure
Find the condition that applies to your storage facility:
- New storage facility from IBM®. A safety inspection is not required. Continue with Checking for weight reduction, feature code 0200.
- Not a new storage facility from IBM and was maintained by IBM. A safety inspection is not required. Continue with Checking for weight reduction, feature code 0200.
- Not a new storage facility from IBM and was not maintained
by IBM. A safety
inspection is required. Continue with
Safety inspection
in the Service Information Center. The HMC is not yet available so you must locate the IBM DS8000® series Service Documents CDROM (normally in the Rack-1 ship group). Start the information center on the CD.- If you are installing a base rack, click on Safety from the navigation pane, and then click
