PWR1918 Section-1

About this task

Note: Storage complex repair actions must always be managed from the management console. To replace any FRUs identified in this procedure, use Storage Facility Management > storage facility > Exchange Parts. If the FRUs are listed in this or another Serviceable Event, select them from there.

For storage facility Model 961, use Table 1 to determine the failing FRU.

For storage facility Models 941 and 951, use Table 2 to determine the failing FRU.
Table 1. Reference code repair actions (Model 961)
Reference code Description/Action
1xxx 2611 Replace the following, if present, one at a time, and in the order listed:
  1. System backplane (Un-P1)
  2. Disk drive backplane (Un-P2)
1xxx 2622 Replace the following, if present, one at a time, and in the order listed:
  1. System backplane (Un-P1)
1xxx 2623 Replace the following, if present, one at a time, and in the order listed:
  1. System backplane (Un-P1)
  2. Disk drive backplane (Un-P2)
1xxx 2625 Replace the following, if present, one at a time, and in the order listed:
  1. System backplane (Un-P1)
  2. Disk drive backplane (Un-P2)
1xxx 2626 Replace the following, if present, one at a time, and in the order listed:
  1. System backplane (Un-P1)
1xxx 2691 Perform the following steps:
  1. Remove one of the memory cards that has not already been removed in this procedure and replace it with a new memory card.
  2. Power on the system. No special action is necessary, the system will be powered on as part the FRU exchange procedure. See MAP1215 Replace a FRU for more information.
  3. Is reference code 1xxx 2691 logged again?
    • Yes: Continue with the next step.
    • No: The memory card that was replaced was the failing item. This ends the procedure.
  4. Have all of the memory cards been replaced?
    • Yes: Replace the system backplane at location Un-P1. This ends the procedure.
    • No: Reinstall the original memory card and repeat this procedure.
1xxx 8450 At least one VRM is missing from the system unit. Inspect all of the processor cards and memory cards and install the VRMs that are missing. See CEC enclosure location codes (Model 961) for FRU location information for the system that you are servicing.
1xxx 8453 There is an extra processor regulator in the system. Remove the extra regulator.
1xxx 8454 A fan at location Un-A3 is installed in a single-socket system. This configuration is not valid. Remove the fan at location Un-A3.
1xxx 8457 Low-power processor VRMs were installed on the system. The system requires high-power processor VRMs. Replace the processor VRMs with the correct part number.
If you received this error after replacing a VRM, check that VRM first.
If you received this error after replacing a processor module, check that the correct processor module FRU was used.
1xxx 8458 Low-power processor VRMs were installed on the system. The system requires high-power processor VRMs. Replace the processor VRMs with the correct part number.
If you received this error after replacing a VRM, check that VRM first.
If you received this error after replacing a processor module, check that the correct processor module FRU was used.
Table 2. Reference code repair actions (Models 941, 951)
Reference code Description/Action
1xxx 1611, 1612, or 1613 Processor voltage regulator 1 at location Un-P2-C3 is failing. Replace it.
1xxx 1621, 1622, or 1623 Processor voltage regulator 2 at location Un-P2-C4 is failing. Replace it.
1xxx 1631, 1632, or 1633 Processor voltage regulator 3 at location Un-P2-C5 is failing. Replace it.
1xxx 2602 and all other reference codes Failing processor voltage regulator card cannot be determined. Replace processor voltage regulator cards sequentially. If 1xxx 2602 appears again, replace CEC enclosure system processor backplane assembly Un-P2.
1xxx 8450 Fewer processor voltage regulator cards than processor cards are installed.
1xxx 8451 Too few processor voltage regulator cards installed.
