MAP21C1 CEC complex 2 I/O backplane assembly

Procedure

  1. Determine the machine type/model/serial (MTMS) number of the top CEC enclosure in Rack-1.
  2. Does this storage facility have a Rack-2?
    • Yes, go to step 3.
    • No, the controlling CEC enclosure for CEC complex 2 is the bottom CEC enclosure in Rack-1. Go to step 4.
  3. Does Rack-2 have CEC enclosures?
    • Yes, the controlling CEC enclosure for CEC complex 2 is the top CEC enclosure in Rack-2. Go to step 4.
    • No, the controlling CEC enclosure for CEC complex 2 is the bottom CEC enclosure in Rack-1. Go to step 4.
  4. The MTMS of the controlling CEC enclosure for CEC complex 2 is on the front of the CEC enclosure, at the far right, between the rack mounting screws (in a vertical orientation).
  5. Use the Exchange FRU process to select and replace the CEC complex I/O backplane assembly.
    1. From the navigation area, click Storage Facility Management > storage facility.
    2. From the bottom Task area, click Exchange Parts. Select the exchange option that contains the FRU to be exchanged. A window opens and displays the enclosures.
    3. Select the Enclosure Location Code, and then click Show FRUs.
    4. Select the FRU Location Code, and then click Exchange FRU.
