MAP2215 Missing Configuration messages in PPSs

The SRCs listed in this topic indicate that one or both PPSs in a rack have failed to receive either the system clock configuration message or the battery configuration message. These messages are expected to be received by the PPSs during IML or when service mode is reset for a PPS.

MAP2215 Section-1

Procedure

  1. Display open serviceable events for the storage facility. Other than the serviceable event that sent you to this MAP, are there any other related open serviceable events with SRC BE19xxxx that also contain PPS FRUs from this same rack in their FRU list?
    • Yes, exit this MAP and repair the related serviceable event. If all FRUs in this serviceable event were successfully repaired by the other serviceable event, then exit and close this serviceable event. If there is still a PPS in this FRU list that was not repaired by the other serviceable event, then return to this procedure and go to the next step.
    • No, go to the next step.
  2. Each PPS in the FRU list of the serviceable event that originally sent you to this MAP needs to be logically reset.
Note: If the PPS was already repaired by using the Yes choice in step 1, then it has already been reset.
To reset the PPS, do a pseudo repair, which means you use the parts exchange procedure but do not physically touch the cables or circuit breakers of the PPS being repaired. The repair process will logically reset the PPS prior to the parts verification process.
Note: If both PPSs in a rack need to be reset, do a pseudo repair for the first, then do a pseudo repair for the second.
    • Use the Storage Facility Management > storage facility > Exchange Parts option to locate the PPSs and do the pseudo repair. Then return here and go to the next step.
  3. Was each PPS pseudo repair FRU verification successful?
    • Yes, exit this MAP and close any related serviceable events.
    • No, contact your next level of support.
