MAP2621 SRC BE19394x Waiting for battery service module (BSM)
sets to achieve 90% charge
The rack battery service module (BSM) sets are being charged
but have not yet achieved the 90% minimum charge to allow the storage
facility to be used.
MAP2621 Section-1
Procedure
Determine which rack in the storage facility is reporting
the battery charge condition. Reference the last character of the
SRC field in the serviceable event that sent you to this MAP. The
last character identifies the rack.
Are there any open serviceable events related to the DC-UPS
DSU or battery service module (BSM) sets in this rack?
Yes, exit this MAP and repair those serviceable events.
No, go to the next step.
There are no hardware problems at this time. The battery
modules are charging normally and must achieve 90% of their maximum
charge before the code will allow the storage facility to be used.
There is no utility option to display the battery charge percentage,
so you should retry each operation that gave the error in 30 to 60
minutes.
Wait a maximum of 3 hours for the 80% battery module charge to be achieved.
If the error condition does not go away after 3 hours, check once again for related open
serviceable events to repair and, if there are none, return to the serviceable event that sent you
here and replace the BSM set listed in the FRU list. Refer to Figure 1. For
BSM layout and location in bottom, front rack for models 98x, see Figure 2 and Figure 3.
