MAP4830 Changing the processing unit identifier

This procedure provides guidance on how to change the processing unit identifier (SPCN ID).

CAUTION:

This procedure must only be used if you were sent here from elsewhere in maintenance package.

Verify whether the managed system (CEC enclosure) is powered off. At the rear of the storage facility, view the CEC enclosure power supplies.
- For Models 951 and earlier, see Figure 1.
- For Models 961, see Figure 2.
- For Models 980, 983, 984, see Figure 3.
- For Models 981, 985, 986 see Figure 4.
- For Models 982, 988 see Figure 5.
Are the DC GOOD (output) LEDs lit?
- Yes, contact your next level of support.
- No, continue with the next step.

Use the ASMI user interface to access the failing SF system (CEC enclosure). Refer to MAP6F00 Accessing the ASMI.
Log on to ASMI with user ID:
general and password gen2107.
Select System Configuration then Processing Unit Identifier. Set the Identifier value to B6 and click Save Settings.
The FSP (Service Processor) reboots. Allow up to 10 minutes for this to complete.
