MAP4830 Changing the processing unit identifier

This procedure provides guidance on how to change the processing unit identifier (SPCN ID).

Procedure

  1. Verify whether the managed system (CEC enclosure) is powered off. At the rear of the storage facility, view the CEC enclosure power supplies.

    Are the DC GOOD (output) LEDs Callout label 2 lit?

    • Yes, contact your next level of support.
    • No, continue with the next step.

    Callout label 1 is the LED for AC GOOD, Callout label 2 is the LED for DC GOOD, Callout label 3 is the LED for IDENT.

  2. Use the ASMI user interface to access the failing SF system (CEC enclosure). Refer to MAP6F00 Accessing the ASMI.
  3. Log on to ASMI with user ID:
    general and password gen2107.
  4. Select System Configuration then Processing Unit Identifier. Set the Identifier value to B6 and click Save Settings.
  5. The FSP (Service Processor) reboots. Allow up to 10 minutes for this to complete.
  6. Return to the procedure that sent you here.
