Exchange the rack identity card to operator panel LED assembly cable

Attention:
  • This procedure is not a stand-alone procedure. Customer disruption and damage to the hardware might occur when microcode and power boundaries are not in the proper conditions for this service action.
  • If a serviceable event FRU repair directed you to this procedure, the microcode and power boundaries are already set.

Notes:
  • All the cables and FRUs to be removed must be uniquely identified so they can be reinstalled correctly.
  • If an installed earthquake resistance kit prevents you from accessing this FRU, refer to MAP1600.

Remove the rack identity card to operator panel LED assembly cable

Procedure

  1. Disconnect the cable from the C5-J3 connector on the rack identity card. See Figure 1.

  2. Disconnect the cable from the rear of the operator panel LED assembly at the top left of the rack front door.
  3. Remove the cable retention hardware as needed and then remove the cable.

Install the rack identity card to operator panel LED assembly cable

Procedure

  1. Route the cable.
  2. Connect the cable to the operator panel LED assembly.
  3. Connect the cable to the C5-J3 connector on the rack ID card.
  4. The code cannot detect failures with this cable or the operator panel LED assembly.
    1. Observe the operator panel three LEDs on the front cover.
    2. The two upper should be lit solid green.
